New Years Resolution

Happy New Year y’all.. I know, most of y’all see my title and think “Oh, here we go with some cliché resolution”, but NO. Hear me out..

I have a few New Years resolutions.. Is one of them to get back on track with eating better? Well, yeah. Duh. Holidays are tempting. But mainly it’s to connect more with my child and be more active.

I know I am a great Mother, but I felt like my boy needed more from me so I started reading Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids by Dr. Laura Markham and it has changed my life. It’s made me realize that I am doing so many things right but that there are some additional things I can do to make my amazing son and my relationship even stronger..

I’m not kidding when I say I’m not even halfway through the book and it has changed my life. Not only am I finding myself to be more engaged with him but I’m feeling more motivated to go out and do fun stuff with him because we’re both in sync and there’s almost NO moodiness from him or me! (Terrible 2’s?! No way! Just give your kiddo the connection they need!)

It’s only 5 days into the New Year and I’ve already been OWNING my resolutions. Eating better? Check. Being more active? Check. Building an even stronger connection with my son? SUPER CHECK. I know, this post is a little scattered and I promise I’m in no way collaborating with the book for promotions I just love how much a book has changed my perspective.

The moral of this rambling post is really go at your goals this year. Read a book, be more active, step out of your comfort zone.. Just live in the moment and cherish the things that are most important.
