Although we’re mostly paleo, we definitely have our little treats here and there – Some are still healthy! This time.. We’re doing Chocolate Protein Bites! Lately I’ve been really, really sluggish, exhausted, foggy brained, etc. and needed to create SOMETHING to help me!
So I’ve been skipping coffee in the mornings and having a multivitamin Purely Inspired Organic Greens smoothie instead to try and get as many vitamins and minerals in me as I can and it’s definitely already made a difference. And although Oats aren’t paleo they are beneficial as they absorb slowly in the body, giving you a longer boost of energy so I decided to start making some protein bites to assist in getting my energy levels back up!
They’re perfect as each batch makes around 12 (Depending on how large you make them!) – So they last for a few days, the kids love them for snacks, they’re perfect for on-the-go and for a MUCH needed energy pick-up.
I’m gonna share this recipe with you as it’s made a huge difference lately and they’re really, REALLY good.. And it’s perfect for the summertime as no-bake is great since it’s already SO hot outside!
Hey y’all. Sorry I’ve been so quiet lately! Been busy with getting ready for our trip to Louisiana! Hudson and I fly out Friday and I’ve been scrambling to get everything ready!
This last weekend I ate a little gluten because of a party I went to and Mother’s Day! I definitely paid for it, I’m JUST feeling better.. It’s so important, even if you’re stressed, to take care of yourself. It’s keeps your energy levels high and improves your overall mood!! I don’t feel yucky now because I’ve been eating whole foods, drinking tons of water and exercising! It makes a huge difference.. Not only do I feel confident because I like how I look but I also feel GREAT. So eat your whole foods, folks! Drink tons of water and GET UP! Be active! Even if it’s chores around the house or just a little walk! ❤
Yesterday, my Husband and I were craving ramen noodles. The broth, the noodles, the flavors.. We REALLY wanted it. Then we had the crazy idea of winging it and trying our own! Using ingredients we already had at home we started with the broth.
In a bowl I poured a full container of Organic Vegetable broth and mixed it (to taste) with sea salt, cajun seasoning, cumin, white pepper, ginger and a LITTLE poultry seasoning (If using chicken as your protein). Then added coconut aminos until it tastes like ramen broth!! (Really, you’ll know! ;))
Bring to a boil. While waiting for your broth to boil, spiralize your sweet potatoes into noodles, heat a pan to medium-high with olive oil and throw in noodles. Let them cook for 5-7 minutes (Flipping gently, every minute) AND cook your protein (If wanted) at the same time.
Once done place protein and noodles in a bowl and pour boiling broth over. Allow to sit for 2 minutes to soak and ENJOY!
Super delicious. SUPER healthy. We LOVED it! It’ll be our sickness food and our “Need a Cheat Day” cure food 😉
As a Mom (Or any parent that is) you know how exhausting every day can be. FUN. But exhausting.. My body has been really aching lately, my legs and feet in particular. So I was really happy to hear there was a place nearby, Bodhi Body, literally 7 minutes away!! And I’ve never had a massage so with Mother’s Day coming up so fast I decided I was gonna treat myself!
When I came in I was pleasantly surprised by how adorable and serene their little studio was. I was greeted by my therapist for the session, Kaley; She was so welcoming, sweet and soft spoken (Which really made it a peaceful experience from start to finish) She explained all of the details to me and asked if I would be interested in a new calming THC/CBD lotion. It is a topical, cannabis-infused lotion that only absorbs through the skin to provide localized relief for pain, inflammation and soreness. It smelled amazing and sounded really unique so I was absolutely interested in giving it a go!
They had so many different options for services. There was aromatherapy, hot stones, herbal balls for Thai Massages and so much more. Definitely will have to be back to try them ALL.
I was escorted into a very tranquil room that was dark and calming with gorgeous, relaxing music playing on loop. I was already feeling so peaceful.
Once on the bed I felt completely at ease and was quickly tended to. Kaley (Like all of the other therapists, graduated from the Denver School of Massage Therapy) was INCREDIBLE. It was so relaxing, the lotion was DIVINE, and Kaley was able to find every trouble spot and make the pain melt away. It was the most relaxed I have ever been in my entire life (I totally drooled a few times and 80% sure I fell asleep at some point)
I am never going to deny myself of this incredible treat ever again. It is SO beneficial and so amazing to have a little “me time”. Thanks SO much to amazing Kaley and Bodhi Body for such an incredible experience – This is perfect for Mother’s Day coming up, y’all! Treat those Mamas! 😉 I will be back and cannot wait for next time – I already wanna go back!

Since today is Thursday, figured I would throw out a quick tip since I missed Wednesday 🙂
Whether you work, are a stay at home mom, are a student or work full-time it is always a good idea to have healthy snacks around for the in-between meal cravings. Something as easy as a banana, apple or anything you can throw into a bag and carry around with you.
When I am having a salt craving my favorite snack is a handful of unsalted, raw almonds! They are incredibly healthy and delicious! (Out of all of the tree nuts they have the highest amount of protein) And a handful of grapes is what satisfies my sweet craving! (Especially frozen!!)
It is actually better for your body to eat multiple times throughout the day – But that doesn’t mean you need to eat huge meals 5 times a day! Start with 3 healthy meals and two healthy snacks in-between and your body will thank you!
Hello my lovely followers! I got a notification that it’s my 1 year anniversary of starting my blog.. SO exciting!! Didn’t think this blog would go very far but it’s been an amazing experience, I’ve met many amazing people, done amazing things and learned even more about health on my journey to help OTHERS.
So I wanted to do a throwback of my FIRST post ever, because I think it’s a good one and many people didn’t get to see it since it was a whole year ago 😉 So here it goes – Thank you to everyone whose made this blog so rewarding and fun!
Unfortunately, a lot of people fall for those commercials that claim their foods are made with “natural flavors” or have the most natural ingredients. But in reality they make them the first few ingredients and then add a ton of crap as “preservatives” at the end that makes it unhealthy. Healthy food is WHOLE foods – Real meat, fruits, vegetables. Foods that aren’t processed or come from a freezer.
All my life I had heard “Eating healthy is too expensive” and saw people eat unhealthy thinking that it was true, because.. It had to be right? Or else people wouldn’t be doing it.. And when you go to a fast food place the salad is usually more expensive than the fattening food. So you would assume that it is usually correct that healthy food is pricey.
But when you go into the store you notice that when you cut out all of the frozen food, chips, soda, bread, etc. that your bill really isn’t very high! For instance, my husband went to the grocery store today and found a TON of chicken on sale and came home with around 8 bags of fruits, vegetables and meats and it was only $48! We saved $30 with our King Soopers card. And now we’ll have meats to freeze to keep them from going bad and have food for quite a while!
Don’t believe the hype that you cannot eat healthy due to the price or that some foods are “healthy” because the commercial claims them to have natural ingredients in them. You catch on really quickly that if you want something that may not be a WHOLE food to look at the ingredients. We use coconut sugar, it is made solely from the coconut flower and is a non-refined sugar that the body can process easier. If you look at the ingredients it tells you just that, there aren’t long names that you cannot pronounce.
Foods make a lot of claims, you just need to know the trick to decided which is a gimmick and which is truly good for your body!
I love finding Paleo eateries around us – It’s so exciting knowing that paleolithic eating is growing, expanding and that there really is a community of paleo enthusiasts EVERYWHERE! So when we heard about EatingPrimal we HAD to try them! They’re an amazing local gourmet food delivery service that makes Paleo and Pure meals.
If you’ve ever tried Blue Apron it’s a little like that BUT the meals are already made and are HEALTHY. So healthy… AND it doesn’t come in a shipping box. They home/business deliver Monday’s and Thursday’s OR you can pick them up from your local Crossfit gym (If they’re partnered 🙂 ) It’s SO convenient! It’s really helped us in a pinch when we didn’t want to head to the store (Which is when the Fast Food idea gets tossed around) but instead we’ve been able to throw their amazing meals in the microwave and EAT. And MAN even their single servings are FILLING!
They have food items I didn’t even know were possible.. Sweet Potato Noodles?! SO GOOD.
So after perusing their menu we decided to start with 3 meals on Monday. I wanted to try their Korean Beef Bowl, Brent wanted their Sun Dried Tomato Pesto Chicken Pasta and we decided to split the Bison Meatloaf and Gravy with Cauliflower Mash for lunch.
MAN. Seriously I have to say one thing – Their sauce is on POINT. It completely changes the meal! It makes the Korean Beef Bowl taste JUST like Chinese Food and the gravy on the Meatloaf was SO savory, which was phenomenal since the meatloaf was already so moist! The pasta was zucchini and accentuated the chicken really well!
After such an amazing day of food we were SO excited for our next delivery today!! We had such an amazing experience with their customer service and the deliveries were always so pleasant! Today for lunch we enjoyed their amazing Hanger Steak with Sage Sweet Potato Noodles (What?!?) and Ancho Chile Chicken Bowl.. They were JUST as amazing as we had hoped. The Chile Bowl has DELICIOUS sauce.. Again with the perfect sauces ❥ And the steak was cooked to perfection and the noodles were something we’re DEFINITELY going to try!!
So if you live in the Colorado area I HIGHLY recommend you give them a try! It’s amazing, delicious, SO convenient and HEALTHY ❥ Thank you EatingPrimal so such an amazing experience and GREAT food we’re already craving and still talking about 😉
