Spring time brings a lot of outdoors work. Getting the garden ready, setting up chicken coops, re-doing the ENTIRE side of the house filled with granite rock and turning it into a grass and river rock stream (Exhausting) .
After all of this non-stop vigorous work I’ve been experiencing a return in my pinch nerve problems that’ve made my arms weak/numb and my entire back ACHE. I decided enough was enough and scheduled my Bodhi Body appointment.
I love the owner Stephanie, she’s fun, professional and really good at what she does. Thought I’d post today since it’s been awhile! Finally getting back into paleo again after the holidays and vacations and I’ve been feeling uh-mazing. Eating whole foods does so much for your body so wanted to take today to revisit an older post that I still feel so passionate about and still helps me SO much!
Whether you work, are a stay at home mom or are a student it is always a good idea to have healthy snacks around for the in-between meal cravings. Something as easy as a banana, apple or anything you can throw into a bag and carry around with you.
When I am having a salt craving my favorite snack is a handful of unsalted, raw almonds! They are incredibly healthy and delicious! (Out of all of the tree nuts they have the highest amount of protein) And a handful of grapes is what satisfies my sweet craving!
It is actually better for your body to eat multiple times throughout the day – But that doesn’t mean you need to eat huge meals 5 times a day! Just 3 healthy meals and two healthy snacks in-between and your body will thank you!

Hey y’all.. It’s been a long week. It was going really well in the beginning until I came down with food poisoning. From what? No clue. But like those commercials say, parents don’t get sick days. So I’ve been trying to soldier through these miserable past few days and have found one thing that’s been helping a ton – My Purely Inspired Organic Greens Superfood Mix.
I haven’t had much of a desire to eat at all. It all comes back up anyways! But when I do feel a slight pang of hunger I want it to be nutritional so I’ve been making quite a few smoothies with my Multivitamin mix and they’ve been a life saver. But I’ve been really needing something with a little more texture so decided to make fruit strips!! They’re incredible and are exactly what I need – They aren’t heavy enough to upset my stomach but still give me a little bit of solids in there AND I add the Organic Greens to my mixture so that they’re PACKED full of vitamins and nutrients!
They’re perfect for sick days but also for whenever – Especially for the kiddos! Love that I decided to make these cuz they’ll now be a household snack all year round! They weren’t difficult to make at all (If you’ve got a dehydrator 😛 ) Try it for yourself! ↓ ↓
Superfood Fruit Strips
- Set dehydrator to 158°F – I spray my fruit tray with coconut oil non-stick spray just incase.
- I like to use whichever fruit is going bad soonest, the riper they are the sweeter they are, but my favorite mix is banana and strawberries.
- Blend your fruit with a splash of water and a scoop of your Organic Greens mix (You need the mixture to be thick!)
- Now pour your mixture into your trays (The more mixture added to each tray the thicker the strips, we like them either way!)
- Let them dehydrate for 10 hours! It’s a long time but it makes a TON and it’s worth it! I usually do mine overnight so they can sit for a few hours in the dehydrator afterward to finish hardening 🙂
These are healthier alternatives to fruit strips with an added bonus of superfoods and multivitamins! They’ve already done wonders helping my stomach settle – And the kids love them too!

You learn a lot of things when you become a Wife and a Mother. One thing I’ve learned is how important it is for everyone to have their own time. Finding it hard to catch up on cleaning? Too tired to cook? Yup, we all do at times. But one thing I’ve finally realized is IT’S OKAY.
If I don’t feel like I’ve got the energy or have the patience I make sure I get 2 things done: I take care of my child then I clean my room. Why my room? It’s my space. And it’s one thing done that I’ll really appreciate. It’s decorated the way I want, I’ve got my Google Home in there to listen to relaxation music, I’ve got my Essential Oil Diffuser and I can close the door.. :p
So once my son goes down for a nap that is MY time. Sometimes I don’t need it, but when I do and don’t want to do anything else while he’s asleep – I clean my room, make my bed and just relax in here. I’m actually doing it RIGHT now and it’s amazing.
Some people don’t take enough time to recenter themselves and empty their minds. Which ends up leaving people feeling overwhelmed and pissy. How do I know? That was me too. Sometimes it can make my family resentful that I need this time but in reality I’m helping them out, hahaha!
So don’t feel guilty about having you time, just do it! And make sure you do it in a space that feels like yours ❥
As an active Mom with an even more active little man I am constantly tired (Like any other parent 😉 ) With fitting in exercise as often as I can, getting us out of the house 4-5 days a week for activities and being a house wife I am constantly on the go and although I’m only 26 I feel it catching up with me where I would welcome a nap with a smile and a mini-mom tear.
So I cannot be thankful enough for my biweekly massage. It isn’t just for releasing stress and aches and pains but preventing my pinch nerve problems in my neck that cause my arms to go numb when I over-exert. It’s that time of year for New Year, New Me mantras, and I’m all for it! Always try and be the best versions of yourself! It’ll make for a healthier and happier you! When I talk to friend’s who are trying to revamp their life with better eating habits and more exercise I always get asked, “Why Paleo? What is Paleo? Isn’t that a fad diet?”.
That’s what a lot of people think when they hear Paleolithic, just that it’s the same old diet that everyone fails and never likes. Well I’m here to help those of you who may believes those ideals!
Paleo eating is incredible. I’ve been paleo for 4 years now and I couldn’t imagine going back! The Paleo (Or Caveman) diet isn’t really even a diet. It’s a lifestyle. A change of your thoughts on food and living. It promotes the caveman experience – Living active lifestyles and eating whole, natural, REAL food.
The Cavemen didn’t have processed foods (obviously) but just what God supplied for them. Meats, vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc. etc. And in the beginning I know how hard it is to cut out everything and imagine how to go from everything you’re accustomed to making/eating to going down to the basics but it’s doable and it works!
Processed foods can be very detrimental to your health in the long run which it’s why it’s best to embrace the paleo lifestyle because eventually all of the bad ingredients in foods nowadays will catch up to you and can cause some issues. Of course there are times where we indulge and enjoy some delicious pizza, pasta or drinks (Outside the paleo allowed red wine) but it’s better than the alternative of eating bad all the time with a few healthy foods sprinkled in every now and then.
Our children even eat predominantly paleo because obviously we want to promote this healthy lifestyle to them and show them that you don’t need fast food to get delicious tasting meals. It begins with us as adults to make the change for us to make a difference to the future generations.
So.. My manta this week is New Year, New You – Try Paleo! . It can make a huge difference in your life and your families, especially down the road.

It’s that time of year again to stuff your face and eat DELICIOUS food. This year it’ll just be my Husband, Hudson and I (And it’s Hudson’s 2nd birthday!) So we wanted to do a low-key dinner and keep it paleo! I know that sounds ridiculous but our bodies are finally adjusting back to healthy eating and we wanted to keep it that way!

- Turkey as usual. We’re doing a dry rub and injecting with some cajun seasonings (Duh, I’m married to a cajun 😉 )
- Paleo Dressing! Recipe here!
- Paleo Cranberry Sauce
- Mix and boil 1 Cup Water with 1 Cup Coconut Sugar
- Once boiling and slightly thickened mix in 1 whole bag of cranberries (NON-FROZEN)
- Once all cranberries popped mix in 2 packs of fresh blueberries and cook til softened! Then serve and enjoy!
- Paleo Rolls Made with Chebe Focaccia Bread Mix
- Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Maple Syrup & Rosemary
- Fresh Green Beans with Bacon
- Homemade Paleo Pumpkin Pie (Hubby’s Secret Recipe 😉 )
- A mini cake for Hudson’s birthday!!
These are all traditional Thanksgiving dishes that we tweaked to fit into our healthy lifestyle and we’re happy we’re doing it! It takes JUST as much work to make as normal dishes but we’ll feel fantastic afterwards! Oh.. And GO COWBOYS!!
