Anyone else part of the Anti-Plastic Straw movement? In our household we’ve officially given them all up – We’re huge recyclers and it really bugged us how bad for the environment they are! My Husband uses straws everyday for coffee and wine and I use them for my tea and smoothies!
SO. We decided we were going to buy some reusable-goodfortheEarth straws! We found Eco at Heart on Amazon and they had such amazing reviews we decided to give them a try.
We just got ours last week and we LOVE them. They’re not too long (Which is a problem I’ve seen with some of the stainless steel straws) and it comes with a brush so they’re really easy to clean!!
They come with five so our whole family can have their own and we’re teaching our children to think about the Earth and not to be wasteful. I highly recommend the change to anyone – Especially in honor of Earth Day!
(Put one in your car and tell Starbucks, McDonalds, etc. to skip the straw!) You’ll feel better because you’re actually making a difference!

I love Spring! The trees are blooming, green grass is beginning to show, I get to TAN, and my family and I spend so much time outside together! It’s amazing and I’m so excited it’s finally here!
Now that warmer weather is here I decided it’s time to plan a fun family mini-cation – I think we all could use it! So I went online to Great Wolf Lodge and booked us a room in May which includes full access to their amazing water park! We haven’t told the kids but we’re SO excited to have time for all of us and not have any other worries in the world!
I bought everyone new swimsuits (Got an adorable Mom appropriate swimsuit here, LOVE it.) and now we play waiting game.. But, my Husband and I have something super exciting to look forward to everyday and it’s really fun for us!
You deserve a mini-cation too! Book something for your family or for yourself! Something you can look forward to that excites you for Spring and new experiences!
We have wanted to raise chickens for years and this year we’re FINALLY doing it! It’s so exciting.. We got our brooder box set up and got 4 sweet little chicks! Not only are they ADORABLE and the kids LOVE having their own chickens (Their names are Heihei, Baba, Kickin’ Wing and Daffodil) I know, right?! haha But they’re also an investment! We go through nearly 2 dozen eggs a week and these babies will one day be giving us TONS of beautiful eggers!
Not a real blog post.. Just wanted to share and maybe encourage more folks to do their research and look into getting their own chicks! We’re getting solar panels, growing our own vegetable garden and now have our own chickities.. We could be fully off the grid if needed! Just incase a zombie apocalypse happens.. Just sayin’.
Hey y’all! How’s it hangin?
Thought I’d post today since it’s been awhile! Finally getting back into paleo again after the holidays and vacations and I’ve been feeling uh-mazing. Eating whole foods does so much for your body so wanted to take today to revisit an older post that I still feel so passionate about and still helps me SO much!
Whether you work, are a stay at home mom or are a student it is always a good idea to have healthy snacks around for the in-between meal cravings. Something as easy as a banana, apple or anything you can throw into a bag and carry around with you.
When I am having a salt craving my favorite snack is a handful of unsalted, raw almonds! They are incredibly healthy and delicious! (Out of all of the tree nuts they have the highest amount of protein) And a handful of grapes is what satisfies my sweet craving!
It is actually better for your body to eat multiple times throughout the day – But that doesn’t mean you need to eat huge meals 5 times a day! Just 3 healthy meals and two healthy snacks in-between and your body will thank you!
Eat WHOLE foods today! ♥
Am I right? How awesome was that tip nearly 2 years ago?! I forget this tip often but lately I’ve been buying random snacks/fruits that’ll satisfy my cravings and are easy for on the go when Hudson and I take our outdoor adventures!
What’s your favorite go-to snack?
As a Mom I feel like I constantly lose EVERYTHING. I’m always in a hurry and always doing something so I lose track of my keys, Hudson’s toys, his blanket and my phone. I decided enough was enough and got myself a Chipolo Bluetooth Tracker! You attach it to anything you don’t want to lose, download the app and click Ring To Find and it’ll sound loudly to alert you to it’s location! **You can also double click the finder and it rings your phone on loud, even if it’s on silent! It’s little, discreet and cute! I’ve already tried it on Hudson’s toys and blanket and it worked amazing! He loved hunting to find his stuff, it became a little game 😉But after awhile realized it was most helpful on my keys since I lose them the most! So they’re permanently on my keychain and have already come in handy TWICE in one week. *facepalm*I highly recommend it to any Parent or anyone who is forgetful like me :p They also have Chipolo Card which is a super convenient wallet/purse finder! I may need to get that as well because I ALSO misplace my purse often 😛 Use their code STOPLOSING10 for 10% off your order!

You learn a lot of things when you become a Wife and a Mother. One thing I’ve learned is how important it is for everyone to have their own time. Finding it hard to catch up on cleaning? Too tired to cook? Yup, we all do at times. But one thing I’ve finally realized is IT’S OKAY.
If I don’t feel like I’ve got the energy or have the patience I make sure I get 2 things done: I take care of my child then I clean my room. Why my room? It’s my space. And it’s one thing done that I’ll really appreciate. It’s decorated the way I want, I’ve got my Google Home in there to listen to relaxation music, I’ve got my Essential Oil Diffuser and I can close the door.. :p
So once my son goes down for a nap that is MY time. Sometimes I don’t need it, but when I do and don’t want to do anything else while he’s asleep – I clean my room, make my bed and just relax in here. I’m actually doing it RIGHT now and it’s amazing.
Some people don’t take enough time to recenter themselves and empty their minds. Which ends up leaving people feeling overwhelmed and pissy. How do I know? That was me too. Sometimes it can make my family resentful that I need this time but in reality I’m helping them out, hahaha!
So don’t feel guilty about having you time, just do it! And make sure you do it in a space that feels like yours ❥
As an active Mom with an even more active little man I am constantly tired (Like any other parent 😉 ) With fitting in exercise as often as I can, getting us out of the house 4-5 days a week for activities and being a house wife I am constantly on the go and although I’m only 26 I feel it catching up with me where I would welcome a nap with a smile and a mini-mom tear.
So I cannot be thankful enough for my biweekly massage. It isn’t just for releasing stress and aches and pains but preventing my pinch nerve problems in my neck that cause my arms to go numb when I over-exert. I’m a parent – I ALWAYS over-exert.Having Bodhi Body know specifically what my problem areas and concerns are make it a pleasurable yet needed appointment. If you’ve got an issue like that I highly recommend you checking them out or if you’re out of state trying your own local therapists. It makes a WORLD of difference!
Also, for those weight loss or strengthening New Years resolutions, when you feel stiff and achy from exercising when it may have been awhile or you’re trying something new it can be so disheartening to get back onto that yoga mat for more! But getting a massage totally works those aches and gets you back and ready for more by the next day!
It’s all around beneficial and I LOVE my massage studio. Stephanie is the best and it’s an adorable yet relaxing environment that puts you at peace as soon as you walk in. Try them out for yourself if you’re in the Denver area! Free 30 minute massage with code SIMPLY .
