Desert Essence Probiotic Hand Sanitizer

Kids are gross y’all.. And so are 80 year old Father in Laws who live with you ūüėČ BUT.. I wouldn’t change having them for the world, that’s why I buy tons of hand sanitizer.. But as you’ve seen me mention before I believe what you put on your body is as important as what you put into your body because it still gets absorbed..

So when school/flu season started back up and I needed to stock up I decided to go for a plantbased-betterforourskin sanitizer. I found Desert Essence to be my favorite! Their scents are pleasant, their botanical-infused formulas kept my skin from breaking out due to artificial fragrances and it contains probiotic-packed Kefir which keeps my hands from getting dry and eczema ridden.

It comes in mini and large bottles so the kiddos can clip it to their backpacks and I have big bottles at home for my germaphobic self..

You can try it for yourself now for 30% off with code DEprobioticpower when visiting desertessence.com.

Y’all already know my insane obsession with eating paleo – But now that I’ve had my twins it’s becoming increasingly harder to stay on track when I am busy tending to my home and my three little princes.

But, I need to make sure I also tend to myself so that I’ve got enough energy and strength for my kids, so I decided to begin a meal delivery service to give myself a little break AND help stay on my health track! I’ve tried several companies before but none of them could quite give me the paleo options that my family needed.

That’s when I found Sun Basket and it seemed as though it was made for me. They locally source all of their meats, all of their packaging materials (Besides the ice packs) are completely recyclable and they have many different diet accommodations!

Soon I’ll be posting all about our new delicious paleo recipes that I would’ve probably never thought of because I’d have to hunt the aisles for ingredients and take the time to prep (Which I don’t have at all) so be on the lookout for delicious recipes and pictures SOON.

I loved them so much I actually began a partnership with them! So NOW I’m able to give my readers $80 OFF their first 3 orders! That’s $80 off incredible, nutritious foods that makes life easier. Treat yourself y’all – Try it here!

Venturing Into A New World of Health

Disclosure: The links in this post are affiliate links and if you go through them to make a purchase I will earn a commission. Bear in mind that I link this company and their services because of my genuine belief in their program and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases!

Throughout my health journey these past six years I’ve had many people approach me and ask, “How do you do it?” or “Where do I start?”. I’ve always had the answer when it came to the way I ate. Wholesome foods, natural foods – Meats, fruits, and vegetables! Easy enough right?

iStock-692990626.jpg

Well, when I realized that my food advice wasn’t enough it took me a long time (Til now, honestly!) to realize that it’s really¬†not¬†that easy. Knowing what to ingredients to use and what “meal plan” to follow is a great first step – But the biggest part of weight loss / beginning a healthier lifestyle starts with a persons psychological mindset when it comes to food.

Everyone has a different relationship with food. I used to have a very toxic relationship with it where I was incredibly negative towards my body and starved myself. But when I began to realize what wholesome foods really did for me I started to see it in a new way. And from that blossomed a beautiful respect and love that made transitioning into exercise and healthy long-term habits that much easier.

Now – I am one week away from having my twins.. And it’s been an incredibly long and exhausting pregnancy. Unfortunately, I have not been nourishing my body the way I should’ve been or exercising which I had promised myself I would.

BUT.. I am very proud of myself for creating two little sweet boys and want to reward myself with getting back on track – Not just for weight loss but also for energy and confidence. I already know the foods I need to keep my body strong but where I know I’ll need an extra pair of hands (Because I’ll literally have none with twins) is my recommitment, which is why I’ve decided to start this journey with Noom.

You may have seen their commercials and thought, “Oh – Another diet / weight loss fad.” But they actually touch on exactly everything I had mentioned above. They’re not just about losing the weight, they’re trying to help each unique individual understand their needs to develop those healthy food relationships and habits with psychological encouragement.

They keep you on track, quickly answer¬†any¬†and¬†all¬†questions that arise, and give you the information you need to grow and move achieve your goals! You get paired with the right expert whose picked based on¬†your¬†personality and destination and they’re with you for the long haul! So you get¬†real human interaction with a person you build a foundation and relationship with. I¬†love that aspect.

Woman Stretching Before Run.jpg

I’m really excited to officially become partners with this company because I genuinely believe wholeheartedly in their psychology-based program and mission. You can start this journey with me and join their proven-lasting program right now with their two week trial*.

Noom – It’s a smarter way to lose weight!

*After the trial, it is $149 for a six month subscription. Which is less than $1/day!

Similasan Allergy Eye Relief

As an eco-friendly and all-natural home we try and use products that are full of safe ingredients because I fully believe that what we put on our body is just as important as what we put into them.

Now, Spring is such a gorgeous time of year.. With flowers blooming, trees budding and gardens growing РBut the un-gorgeous part of it is the amount of POLLEN and sinus pain that comes along with it.

So I began my research on healthier alternatives to the standard drug store options since my children seem to struggle this time of year and I found Similasan. It’s a Swiss company that originated in 1980 and their¬†natural remedies provide temporary symptomatic relief from ailments of the eyes, ears, nose, head, and chest.

Header-slide_1-summer

We’ve already had to use the Allergy Eye Relief drops and they’ve been a¬†lifesaver! At the end of the night the kids usually complain that their eyes hurt since they’d been outside for most of the day and it’s so natural it’s safe for ages 2+ so I don’t feel worried about giving it to them whenever needed!

20190419_112230.jpg

We all want our eyes to feel better during allergy season, but many allergy sufferers are concerned about the chemicals found in allergy eye drops. Traditional over-the-counter allergy drops use chemicals such as vasoconstrictors to mask symptoms. Vasoconstrictors may actually worsen the symptoms if used more than directed (usually 4 times a day maximum). Similasan of Switzerland works differently, by using natural botanical extracts to stimulate the body’s natural defenses and target the root cause. Similasan products are made without harsh chemicals, so you can use them as often as needed.

Arctic Cool Gear

I am¬†SO¬†ready for my boys to make their debut soon.. I’m ready to see their sweet faces but I’m also¬†SO¬†ready to have my body back! I’ve already started stocking up on my favorite workout gear through Arctic Cool Gear¬†– They released some new items that are SO comfortable and really cute!

Being big into health and fitness, I’ve tried all different kinds of brands and always struggled with overheating and sticking from sweating – All of these create an uncomfortable exercising experience that would stop me from wanting to continue..

I’ve¬†never had that with Arctic Cool (Which is why I’m 5 pieces of clothing deep ūüėČ ).. With their¬†HydroFreeze X technology, their revolutionary fabric wicks moisture away while lowering body temperature.. Yeah, it literally uses your own sweat to cool you down and it feels amazing!

Their new releases are SO cute and still¬†incredibly¬†comfortable.. I may be rocking my new tank top already, which only covers half of my belly but it’s just too soft and I am sweating constantly right now.. haha!

Once my boys decide to grace us with their arrival I’ll be so ready to get back on the exercise wagon (Once I heal, of course..) and I’m so happy to have all of my Arctic Cool gear along for the challenge!

Check out their new arrivals for exercise or just everyday comfort wear!

Boulder Clean Natural Cleaners

In our household we exclusively use eco-friendly, kid-safe products. As I’ve said many times before I believe that it is just as important what you put¬†on your body as what you put¬†in¬†it. Our skin can easily absorb harsh chemicals – You wouldn’t ingest bleach would you? Then why spray it all over your home only to have it produce harmful fumes and toxic surfaces?

SmartSelect_20180912-200739_Instagram

My kids play in every inch of our home, so I would never want to douse it with chemicals I knew could easily get onto their hands and possibly in their mouths/eyes/nose/whatever!¬†All of these and more are reasons to choose a natural cleaner. After trying all of the different natural cleaners I could I found that my favorite was always Boulder Clean. They’ve got all the items needed to tackle any type of house cleaning project: Laundry items, dishwashing products, soaps, cleaners and more!

SmartSelect_20180912-200722_Instagram

My dishes always come out cleaner, my clothes always come out smelling fresh and are safe for my kids’ skin, and their cleaner sprays smell amazing all with different surface cleaning specialties!

It took me awhile to adjust to the natural cleaners when I first got into it because I always thought¬†bleach means clean but once you do your research and realize how much of a difference it makes for the environment and your families health you’ll never go back.. And¬†Boulder Clean has their ingredients transparently listed on their website so you know exactly what you’re using!

Now, I want to help jump start some of y’all’s future in eco-friendly¬†natural cleaners with a…..

Rollin Greens

Obvsies y’all know we’re a healthy eating family. I hate the idea of sending my kids to school or activities with a stomach full of processed gunk. We pack the healthy lunches with energy producing sides to make sure they don’t crash and can continue to thrive in school… Well what about when they get home? You’re exhausted from your day and your kids are bouncing off the walls..

Screen Shot 2018-09-12 at 9.29.15 PM

It can seem difficult to find the motivation to prepare a nutritional meal for your family but when there are options that are healthy and¬†just¬†as easy as processed foods then you’ve GOT to choose the healthy route – There’s not excuse at that point!

Currently, my favorite healthy side for my kids’ dinners are Rollin’ Greens’ Millet Tots!! They’re delicious tater tots made from only good ingredients and millet,¬†an ancient grain! They taste delicious, take the same amount of time and are¬†easypeasy!¬†(And what don’t tots go with? ūüėõ )

SmartSelect_20180912-213052_Instagram.jpg

So if you’re looking for a delicious side alternative for lunches or dinners try the Rollin Greens’ tots! There are three delicious flavors so you can switch it up and see what they¬†and you like best!

They’re available in the freezer aisle at your local Sprouts Farmers Market!

‚Üď They’ll be changing their packaging soon so be on the lookout for these beauts!¬†‚Üď

Good Samaritan Medical Center

It’s a pretty tough decision choosing the right hospital for your labor delivery. If you ask another parent they’ll all give you hundreds of different suggestions.

When I was pregnant with Hudson in 2015 I decided I wanted it to be solely my decision based on what I believed was most important for my son and myself.

After doing a lot of research I decided Good Samaritan seemed like the best fit because it was designated Colorado’s first Baby-Friendly Hospital by UNICEF. They were very pro-breastfeeding which was something I’ve always been so passionate about due to the plethora of health benefits it provides your baby.

GSMC Exterior_Night.jpg

I did a hospital tour after making my decision to ensure it was in an area I felt safe and would feel proud to have my family come to to meet my gorgeous baby boy.

Upon arriving my Husband and I were in awe. It was absolutely beautiful – Tucked in the town of Lafayette there were mountain views, modern touches, delicious food/drink shops and the classes they had consistently running were such an amazing perk. We decided then and there this was the hospital for us.

On November 22nd I began having my contractions and we were off to Good Samaritan! It was such an exciting ride. Once we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and placed into a beautiful, comfortable room waiting for our little Hudson to grace us with his presence. After 10 hours he was ready. This was my first baby so I was terrified of labor but the nurses were absolutely incredible and my Doctor was so helpful that it made the whole experience a lot less stressful!

Delivery-Room.jpg

Once Hudson was born the caregivers were there every step of the way! A lactation specialist came in and assisted in teaching me how to get him to latch and came in every few hours to ensure it was still going well. I had a free post-labor massage which was AMAZING and we had some delicious food!!

We stayed for a few days then when we were getting ready to head home were given a humungous bag of food so we didn’t have to worry about cooking for a few days! We were also scheduled a nurse to come to our house a week after taking him house to make sure Hudson was healthy, I was healthy and that breastfeeding was still going well.¬†I love how breastfeeding focused they were!

We still talk about the wonderful experience we had at Good Samaritan and plan on using them for our next baby’s delivery as well! Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable, breastfeeding encouraging hospital in the Denver area!

Football is Coming BACK!

Anyone else ECSTATIC that football is coming back?! WE ARE. We’re mega huge football fans in my house and always have large parties and delicious food.. But when you’re a healthy eater the options at stores are not very “friendly” at all.. So here are some delicious alternatives to some tailgating faves!

img_20170205_122336_075

Our favorites are¬†pork green chili¬†sliders (with Birch Benders Paleo Pancake Mix made into buns), buffalo chicken (made with drumsticks and buffalo sauce), and bacon wrapped guacamole peppers! They’re all incredibly delicious ‚Äď And SPICY. Which is of course necessary for football Sundays¬†ūüėČ
